Hello! My name is Vincent and I am a Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Dance Movement Therapist. I have been working in the field of mental health since 2019 when I began my graduate education and worked as a group facilitator for individuals living with an addiction. I view counseling as an opportunity to act as a guide for individuals wanting to overcome challenges and difficulty in their lives and are seeking to access a greater capacity to tap into inner resilience and strength. Through the perspective of client-centered counseling, my goal is to support individuals thought their process using a strengths-based perspective that shifts focus from limitations to assists, from where there is a perceived deficit to the awareness of wholeness.

My interests lie in the connection between the body, mind, and emotions. As a counselor, I am concerned with how to engage with these three components separately and then to integrate them so that clients can experience a holistic sense of well being, safety, and healing. I've developed the skills to achieve this not only from my education but from my own personal experiences which have led me to a life of service and a desire to help individuals move through resistance and to learn the skills necessary to implement lasting growth and positive change. I have found that somatic awareness coupled with strengths-based, solutions-focused counseling approaches are an effective way to help clients to achieve their goals and achieve a greater sense of connection to who they are.

What I feel is paramount in establishing therapeutic rapport and supporting client's through their process, is the ability to cater to their specific and unique needs/goals. Whether an individual simply wants an objective person to hear them completely and without judgement, wants to develop skills to aid in the management of presenting symptoms, or wants to move through resistance and discomfort, I feel that my role as a counselor is to hold space for and offer encouragements and suggestions regarding what may be most effective and useful for that individual's particular needs. When working with a client, I see them as the expert of their own life and regard myself as a co-pilot to aid with navigation.

It is an honor and a privilege to be able to be on this path of service. I look forward to being present with you through this experience!
