Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EDMR) is a type of psychotherapy which is commonly known for treating mental health conditions, such as posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
This interactive technique encourages patients to relive triggering or traumatic experiences in small doses, while the therapist directs the patient’s eye movements and using bilateral stimulation. Considered as a more unusual form of therapy, EMDR aims to divert the patient’s emotional response from reliving the trauma; aiming to make the feelings, emotions and thoughts associated with the trauma more manageable. While the patient is exposed to distressing or traumatic memories, the strong psychological response often associated with these triggers can then be reduced while the patient’s attention is focused on eye movements.
EMDR is found to be particularly effective for people who have difficulty talking or thinking about their past experiences. Although EMDR was originally considered as a treatment for Trauma and PTSD, there are also several other mental health conditions that can benefit from EMDR.

Intensives are longer versions of the regular sessions.
One benefit is accelerated healing, as the intensive format allows for faster results than traditional weekly sessions, which can be especially beneficial for individuals with severe symptoms or limited time to commit to ongoing therapy. Additionally, by dedicating several days to the therapy process, individuals are able to stay more focused and engaged, leading to deeper insights and more significant breakthroughs.
Multi-day EMDR intensives may also lead to better retention of treatment gains over time, as the concentrated and focused nature of the treatment allows for more effective processing and integration of traumatic memories. Comprehensive treatment plans may also be implemented during these intensives, addressing not only the traumatic memories themselves but also any related emotional, behavioral, or relational issues.
Furthermore, multi-day EMDR intensives are typically conducted in a supportive and therapeutic environment, where individuals can receive additional support and guidance from mental health professionals and peers. This can help them feel less isolated and more connected to others who have experienced similar challenges.
It's important to note that multi-day EMDR intensives may not be appropriate for everyone and individuals should work with a mental health professional to determine the best treatment approach for their unique needs and circumstances.

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) is a holistic modality in which ketamine, a legal, safe and effective medicine, is used to treat a variety of mental health conditions, including Major Depressive Disorders, Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Bipolar Depression, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Severe Anxiety and Treatment-Resistant Depression. It is used as a complement to psychotherapy to help patients to actively examine, work with, and effectively process that material for long-lasting change and sustained improvement in symptoms.
A skilled and experienced therapist can enhance the benefits of ketamine so that healing occurs at a deeper and longer lasting level. Symptoms can be relieved through this Ketamine alone, but the underlying issues that caused the symptoms may persist. The use of ketamine within a personal therapeutic relationship can help the patient better identify and work through difficult experiences and behavior patterns, providing new insights and healing that might not have been possible otherwise. Ketamine assisted psychotherapy may allow a person to gain access to the causes of their struggles that were previously outside their awareness.
It works by blocking the brain’s NMDA receptors as well as by stimulating AMPA receptors, which are thought to help form new synaptic connections and boost neural circuits that regulate stress and mood. In simpler terms, the human brain reacts to Ketamine in a way that triggers hormones that help create "feel good emotions." Ketamine has also been shown to enhance overall neuroplasticity for lasting symptom improvement. The effects of ketamine can be felt within minutes, and many clients report feeling a sense of emotional openness and heightened awareness during the session. This can make it easier for them to identify and address underlying issues that may be contributing to their mental health concerns.
Ketamine can be administered in a variety of ways, including IV infusion, intramuscular injection, via nasal spray (esketamine) and using sublingual lozenges. Blue Lotus Wellness uses both the sublingual lozenge and intramuscular injection options for clients prescribed and administered onsite by a licensed medical provider.
Clinical research recommends a Minimum of 4 doses of Ketamine in order to experience longer term benefits. Each individual is different and may require more doses for lasting effects, however, some may see immediate short-term shift (up to two weeks) in only 1 or 2 doses. Ketamine-assisted Therapy can result in deep and lasting change, often far more rapidly than with psychotherapy alone, and, treatment costs would be significantly lowered due to these quicker results and lasting effects.
Both intramuscular (IM) ketamine and sublingual (SL) ketamine lozenges are used in mental health treatment, particularly for depression, anxiety, PTSD, and other mood disorders. However, they differ significantly in terms of bioavailability, efficacy, onset, duration, and overall effectiveness. IM ketamine works faster and has stronger antidepressant effects, whereas SL lozenges offer a gentler, more prolonged experience but are less potent. The best option depends on the individual's condition, response to treatment, and ability to access clinical care. Many patients combine both—using IM for initial breakthroughs and lozenges for continued integration.
IM Ketamine: Injections (1 or 2) received in the upper arm. Best for rapid relief of severe depression, acute suicidality, PTSD, and anxiety when immediate intervention is needed. Delivers 90-100% of the drug into the bloodstream (bioavailability), leading to higher potency and immediate effects.
SL Lozenges: Lozenges held under the tongue until dissolved. Better for mild-to-moderate depression or anxiety, maintenance therapy, or as a gentler introduction to ketamine therapy. Only 20-30% of the drug is absorbed (bioavailability) due to metabolism in the liver before entering circulation.

"I was nervous, at first, about trying the ketamine treatments. But after struggling with PTSD symptoms for over 35 years, I was willing to try anything! The treatment sessions were very calming and relaxing. I felt completely safe with Kim right there by my side and overall enjoyed the experiences. The results were nothing short of miraculous! The nightmares have been markedly reduced, and the daily struggles with thoughts of self-harm have all but disappeared! Completely 100% worth the time and expense!"

During your medicine session, you will be laying down and will have a mask to block light as well as noise cancelling headphones in order to fully immerse yourself in the experience. The effects of ketamine, which most patients find pleasant, last for approximately 45 minutes. These effects can make you feel “far from” your body and facilitate shifts in perception that can often feel expansive in nature. People can have a variety of experiences including:
• ability to access challenging states of mind with less fear
• allow inner access to difficult and often “stuck” material and emotions
• relief from obsessive and depressive states
• conscious awareness
• a sense of newness and healing afterwards
Once these effects subside, we’ll spend the remainder of our appointment giving you space to process and discuss your experience. While it may feel hard to articulate what happens during the experience, patients feel like the insights gained are clear.
In a mental health counseling session, you can expect to have a private and confidential conversation with a trained mental health professional. You will have the opportunity to discuss your mental health concerns and experiences in a safe and non-judgmental environment.
During the session, your counselor will actively listen to you and help you explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. They will work with you to identify the root causes of your mental health concerns and develop strategies to address them.
The counseling process will usually involve a variety of therapeutic techniques and interventions, such as talk therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and mindfulness-based therapy, tailored to meet your unique needs and preferences.
In addition to providing support and guidance, we will also offer psychoeducation, which involves teaching you about mental health, self-care, and stress management, and may refer you to other mental health professionals or community resources as needed.

Often referred to as "Psychological acupressure" or "Tapping", the technique works by releasing blockages within the energy system which are the source of emotional intensity and discomfort. These blockages in our energy system, in addition to challenging us emotionally, often lead to limiting beliefs and behaviours and an inability to live life harmoniously. Resulting symptoms are either emotional and/ or physical and include lack of confidence and self esteem, feeling stuck anxious or depressed, or the emergence of compulsive and addictive behaviours.
An EFT treatment involves the use of fingertips rather than needles to tap on the end points of energy meridians that are situated just beneath the surface of the skin.

Hypnosis is a natural state of selective, focused attention and heightened awareness while in deep relaxation and it is 100% natural and normal. Our ability to enter this unique state of consciousness opens the door to countless possibilities for healing, self-exploration and change.
Hypnosis has been used therapeutically in the treatment of pain, depression, insomnia, recalling forgotten experiences, anxiety, stress, habit disorders, as well as many other psychological and medical problems.
Contrary to popular belief, people under hypnosis are in total control of themselves and would never do anything they would normally find objectionable. This myth stems from people’s ideas about stage hypnotism. In actuality, hypnosis is a deep relaxed stated where the person is given positive suggestions for change. These suggestions seem to germinate in the unconsious and are intended to take effect after the person emerges from the trance and is no longer under hypnosis creating important behavioral or psychological changes.

Energy healing is an umbrella term for any holistic practice that manipulates the body's subtle energy systems to remove blocks. Trauma, emotional and mental stress, false belief systems, physical distress, environment stress, and other blocks to our personal growth can be stored in the energy fields of our bodies, impacting our ability to function at our full potential. Energetic healing facilitates the healing process by clearing blocks in the energy fields, repairing and rebalancing the energy so that the body access its inherent ability to heal itself.
Crystal healing therapy is an ancient healing system concerned with treating clients through the precise placement of crystals on or around the body in a grid like pattern. It is based on the premise that crystals can, through their electromagnetic field, communicate with and connect with the energies flowing around the human body. Every crystal has its own unique electromagnetic charge. These charges, or 'healing vibrations’ interact with the body's energy centers to remove 'blockages' and restore a healthy flow through the body, mind and energy field.
